Patricia Dent

Business Mentor, Grow Vantage.

Patricia is a business mentor who works with entrepreneurs to design, grow and improve their businesses. She is the business mentor in residence at The Creative Space, a co-working entrepreneurial incubator in Barrie, and a business owner of Grow Vantage and Inciteful Solutions.

Grow Vantage is a program that helps entrepreneurs learn to effectively run their business, build networks, maximize profitability and avoid the pitfalls that cost a bundle and delay success. Patricia also coaches entrepreneurs on business design and effective strategies to grow their businesses, from operations to marketing, and products to customer service, in one-on-ones, masterminds, and workshops.

Prior to moving to Barrie in 2009, Patricia had over 20 years of experience in marketing, sponsorship customer relationship management, operations, revenue-building and project management. She has developed and delivered strategic business growth initiatives across multiple sectors in for-profit, not-for-profit and start-up organizations.

She transformed the original TSE Visitor Centre, into a state of the art conference, media and event centre: TSX Broadcast & Conference Centre within the Toronto Stock Exchange that strengthened the public face of the exchange.

She was responsible for multiple sponsorship, communications, event and marketing roles, for organizations such as the TSX, Bell Mobility, Bridgepoint Hospital, Toronto Rehab Hospital, Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) and award programs: The CEO of the Year and Top 40 Under 40.

She launched event series, including Market Sense at TSX which went from live to online and television (reaching online audiences of 5,000 per event) and OCE’s Mind to Market breakfast series. Patricia’s education includes a Bachelor of Arts, and certifications in Marketing, CMP, P.CRM and coaching.

As part of the Barrie community, she is a past board member of COPE Service Dogs and a board member with Sweet Charity (a new organization that trains dogs to warn type-one diabetics of rapidly and dangerously falling blood sugar levels). She is also a co-founder of Small Business Connect, a grass roots organization that fills a gap for low-cost small business networking in Simcoe County. She supports individual initiatives such as TELUS Walk for JDRF, Christmas Cheer, and the Cancer Society.

Patricia and husband Rob have accomplished daughters Erinn and Luna as well as an amazing grand-daughter, Isabel, and fabulous son-in-law, Steve. They are raising service dogs in training: Belle and Sprocket.
